Jean-Pierre Ezin
Jean-Pierre Ezin, a citizen of Benin, obtained a doctorat de 3e cycle and a doctorat d’État at the Université des Sciences et Technologies de Lille in 1987. His thesis advisor for his doctorat d’Etat was Professor Jean-Pierre Bourguignon of the Laurent Schwartz Mathematics Institute of the École Polytechnique in Paris. Professor Ezin also has a diploma from the Institute of Business Administration from the Université de Lille.
Professor Ezin’s research areas are differential Riemannian geometry and analytical geometry. He has published over forty articles and edited two conference proceedings. He has given a number of papers at conferences in African, European, Canadian, and American universities. He has been a research fellow at the Abdus Salam International Institute of Theoretical Physics in Trieste, Italy, and at the Laurent Schwartz Institute of Mathematics at the École Polytechnique, Paris, France.
Professor Ezin has been the head of the Mathematics Department, the Dean of the Faculty of Science, and the Rector of the National University of Benin. He is currently the Director of the Regional Institute of Mathematics and Physical Science at the University of Abomey-Calavi, which he founded in 1988, and which is a centre of excellence for doctoral programmes for francophone Africa.
Professor Ezin is an Officier des Palmes Académiques Françaises and Chevalier in the Ordre International des Palmes Académiques du Conseil Africain et Malgache de l’Enseignement Supérieur (CAMES) and a member of the American Mathematical Society.
