The Center for Disability Studies and Services (PSLD) of the State Islamic University UIN Sunan Kalijaga hosted  “The Difference, Let’s Live it Together” on February 3, 4 and 5 2010 at the Yogyakarta French Cultural Center (LIP) in Indonesia. The event was organized in collaboration with Academics for Higher Education, Handicap International, Lembaga Indonesia Prancis, and Matahariku, an NGO for the empowerment of the deaf. Numerous performances were scheduled including shows from the Difabel Band, presentation of poems, a play by Matahariku, and projections of movies and documentaries. The participants also enjoyed pictures and exhibitions both from the Centre and Handicap International as well as kiosks with demonstrations of material used for people with visual or physical impairments.
